Well, I guess you’d like to know more about me since you made it to this page. While the title of this is ”About Me”, I feel that there’s a bit more to me than just that. I kind of get myself involved in a number of projects since I have the time and ability to do a number of things since I’m a freelancer. While I have a lot of primary subjects that I focus on, I don’t like to pigeon hole myself in one line of work. With that being said, below are the things I typically do on a day to day basis.
First off, I’m an audio engineer. What does that mean? It means I know how to operate the equipment that can record your favorite band and put it all together in a format that you can listen to. I currently own and operate a small production company called Pure Shift Productions that helps people make music. I can record the music, mix it down, and make a CD for people to sell. I also work in sound design where I can create various effects and unique instruments for film, TV, radio, etc.
Secondly, I’m a musician and composer. I’ve been playing a number of different instruments since I was a kid and you’ll find some of my very own music here on this website. I’ve been in a number of different bands but I seem to enjoy working in my studio writing new songs the most. As far as the instruments I play, they are as follows: bass guitar, guitar, ukulele, keyboards, and anything else I can get my hands on. From rock to orchestral, I can compose original music for a variety of projects.
Thirdly, I’m a voice-over artist. Most of my work goes into things like YouTube explainer videos but I’ve done a few independent animations as well. With all of the recording equipment that I have, it just made sense to put myself out there in this way to create a little more income for myself.
While the above tends to cover what I do on a daily basis, there are other things that I’m interested in and involve myself in as much as possible. I love photography and have been known to take my camera with me to various places. I doubt that this will ever become part of my business but I would certainly consider it if a project came across my plate. Another one of my great loves revolves around video games. I’ve been an avid gamer since I got an Atari 2600 when I was quite young and now I’m even working towards creating my own games.
As far as my education goes, I spent a few years at Youngstown State University in the early 90s where I studied TV, Radio, and Theater. I’ve also attended Northern Virginia Community College around 2005 to study audio engineering. Lastly, I’ve taken some courses from the Berklee College of Music where I studied orchestration for film and TV. More recently, though, I went through a coding boot camp at General Assembly where I learned software development.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by! If you have any questions, please use the e-mail link at the top of the page and I’ll do my best to get back to you.
